Curse of the Cat People is the sequel to the 1944 film Cat People and follows Oliver Reed (Kent Smith) after the death of his wife, Irena (Simone Simon), a cat person in the first film. Oliver has married his co-worker, Alice Reed (Jane Randolph), and the two have raised a six-year-old daughter, Amy (Ann Carter). The family leaves behind their busy lives in New York City to settle down in a smaller town. Oliver's first wife is never mentioned in the household, but Amy soon finds an old, forgotten picture of Irena. Shortly after discovering the photograph, Amy begins to imagine the ghost of Irena following her around and has conversations with the ghost. At the same time, she befriends aging actress Julia Farren (Julia Dean) who has lost contact with her own daughter due to her growing senility. As Amy's relationship with Julia and the ghost of Irena develops, the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur with surprising consequences.moreless
