This film is a romantic comedy that follows the high-profile lives of Stevenson Lowe (James Spader) as a successful business man in New York City and Julia (Polly Walker) as his long time serious girlfriend. Lowe and Julia share a long time romance that comes to a head when she wants to get married. We soon find the house is already home to eccentric free spirits (Michael Cane and Maggie Smith) who are stuck in the afterlife on earth and were once theatrical stars. These two free spirits will teach one lost soul how to live, love and learn. This film also stars Buck Henry and Sam Shepard.
