Cyber Wars -- also Matrix Exile or Avatar Hunter -- is a 2004 science-fiction film from director Kuo Jian Hong. In the near future, each and every citizen of the Asian city-state Sintawan is identified by an implanted microchip and a system called CyberLink. For their "safety," CyberLink always knows who and where its citizens are. Anonymity is accessible only to those who buy illegal Simulated Identity iMplants, or "SIM" chips, from a thriving black market. The hard-nosed bounty hunter Dash MacKenzie (Genevieve O'Reilly) and detective Victor Huang (Luoyong Wang) make a living tracking down SIMs. But the trail of their latest offender leads to an unexpected discovery that powerful people use the CyberLink system to play a deadly game with the lives of Sintawan citizens. With no time to lose and no margin for error, MacKenzie and Huang are pit against the evil heads of mega-corporations for the future of the city.
