Daddy Day Care is a 2003 American family comedy film by director Steve Carr, starring Eddie Murphy, Jeff Garlin, Steve Zahn, Regina King, Anjelica Huston, and Lacey Chabert. Charlie Hinton (Eddie Murphy) is a recently unemployed businessman with a son, Ben (Khamani Griffin), enrolled in the prestigious, and pricey, Chapman Academy. When it becomes clear that his son will no longer be able to remain at Chapman Academy, Charlie starts up his own preschool, Daddy Day Care, with his best friend Phil (Jeff Garlin). Things start off rocky, but soon Daddy Day Care, with its extended freedoms, nurturing environment, and fun care providers, becomes an even bigger hit than the Chapman Academy among the under five crowd. One thing is for sure: it won't stay that way for long if the Chapman Academy's strict headmistress, Miss Haridan (Anjelica Houston) has anything to say about it! Daddy Day Care is a wildly hilarious movie about the joys of childhood and parenting, filled with some of the goofiest moments in a daddy's life.
