Daisy Kenyon is a 1947 romantic drama directed by Otto Preminger. Daisy Kenon (Joan Crawford) enjoys a successful career as a commercial artist. However, the beautiful New Yorker is not as lucky when it comes to romance. She does have suitors, but each one of them brings his own complications. Peter Lapham (Henry Fonda) seems like the right choice. He might not be glamorous, but he is a kind and hardworking writer and war veteran. The problem is that Daisy is already passionately in love with Dan O'Mara (Dana Andrews). Dan is charismatic and charming, but he also has a wife, Lucille (Ruth Warrick). Realizing that Dan will never really leave his family behind to be with her, Daisy resigns herself to marrying Peter. Their marriage is not happy, however, and Daisy is not sure whether Peter misses his deceased wife or knows that Daisy still yearns for Dan. When Daisy hears that Lucille and Dan are divorcing, she is thrown into a moral dilemma. Should she leave Peter for the man she lusts after, or do the noble thing and stay with Peter?moreless
