Dallas 362 is a 2003 action film that centers around best friends Dallas (Scott Cann) and Rusty (Shawn Hatosy). Dallas and Rusty work for Bear (Heavy D), a local crime boss, for whom they collect money and debts. Sick of always being in jail, Rusty is debating on leaving his life of crime to go to Texas and compete in rodeos. Meanwhile, Dallas is offered a job to be the driver of Rubin the Roofer (Freddy Rodriguez), another crime boss. If he accepts the job, he will make $20,000. In order to make sure Dallas does not flee town, Rubin orders Dallas to give him $1,000. Dallas begins a search to find someone to loan him the $1,000 and along the way runs into Christian (Val Lauren), a man that Rusty and Dallas collected money from for Bear. Christian will not give Dallas the money, but the two come up with a plan to get it. The chain of events that follow tests the close friendship that Dallas and Rusty have.moreless

Metacritic Score

  • 70

    Variety Scott Foundas

Has a relaxed poeticism to it; it's a sweetly naive, adolescent Hemingway fantasy with a star-making performance by Shawn Hatosy and good ones from everyone else (including Caan).

  • 60

The New York Times Lawrence Van Gelder

Mr. Caan's debut film is not quite a whole thing, but it offers up enough promising fragments to make his sophomore effort worth watching for.

  • 50

New York Daily News Jack Mathews

Clearly, Caan's major influence is Quentin Tarantino, though he manages only a weak imitation. But give him credit for casting Kelly Lynch and Jeff Goldblum and letting them go.
