Damnation Alley is a science fiction film, based on a novel by Roger Zelazny, exploring the consequences of nuclear war. Tanner (Jan-Michael Vincent) is a Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force stationed at a base in California run by Major Eugene Denton (George Peppard). When their radar detects an incoming barrage of missiles, Tanner and Denton start World War III by launching a nuclear retaliation and they watch on from the safety of their shielded base as the world around them is annihilated. Tanner, Denton and the rest of the surviving military personnel survive in their base for over two years with no contact with the outside world. When they receive a radio transmission from New York instructing them to trek across the country, they set out for the source of the transmission. Will their military training and combat vehicles be enough to match the harsh conditions and mutated beasts they must face in the wake of nuclear holocaust?
