Dancing Outlaw is a remarkably unique documentary about West Virginia mountain dancer Jesco White and his journey to become the best in Appalachia. Produced and directed by Jacob Young, this unusual tale is as bizarre as it is memorable. In White, Young stumbles onto perhaps the most complex and intriguing character in movie history, and offers an in depth look into a world most people have no idea about. As we get to know Jesco White and those around him on an intimate level, we learn that not only does he has three distinct personalities, the sweet Jesse, violent Jesco, and the very strange persona of Elvis, but that his life is continually derailed as drug use, poverty, violence, and so much more stand in the way of White's one goal in life, to live up to legacy of his great tap dancing father. Produced for West Virginia public TV's "Different Drummer" series, Dancing Outlaw is extremely gritty, and both realistic and unbelievable. This seven time award winner will knock your socks off, you've never seen anything like it.moreless
