Daniel's Daughter is a 2008 film directed by Neal Fearnley. Cate (Laura Leighton) seems to have the ideal life. Although her mother died when she was young and her father (Brendan Wall) has not been in touch for years, she is now successful and confident. Cate works as a magazine editor in New York City and is planning a splashy, high-profile marriage to Stewart (Barry Flatman), a wealthy media star. Although Cate is hiding secrets, such as her desire to have children, she manages to put on a bright face for her friends. Everything changes when Cate finds a package from her deceased father. He asks her to travel with his ashes to New Kerry, Cate's hometown. Reluctantly, Cate decides to honor his requests and take a break from her fast-paced life. In Ireland, she meets Connor (Sebastian Spence) and finds herself warming to the idea of a simpler and happier lifestyle. As she struggles to reconcile what she truly wants and what she thinks is the right choice, Cate begins to feel closer than ever to her heritage.moreless
