Dans Paris is a dramatic romance directed by Christophe Honore that focuses on Paul (Romain Duris), a downtrodden and severely depressed young man, who moves back into the home of his rather lively and amorous father Mirko (Guy Marchand) and younger brother Jonathan (Louis Garrel). Completely devastated by his break up with Anna (Joana Preiss), a woman who could build him up and tear him down in seconds, Paul’s slightly suicidal shell is at odds with his retired father, who will not admit to his health issues, and the oversexed brother, who leaves the apartment to only return with a few more notches on his belt. Desperate times calls for desperate measures as Mirko calls in his exceptionally inelegant but caring ex-wife (Marie-France Pisier). Dans Paris is a look at the emotional drain that comes with depression as it affects all the members of Paul’s family, each showing signs of it in their own way.
