Dark City is a drama movie that revolves around the central topic of vengeance and payback. Dark City opens with down on his luck GI Arthur Winant (Don DeFore) being taken advantage of by a group of con-men in a crooked poker game. He loses the rest of his money to the cons, led by Danny Haley (Charlton Heston). Feeling out of options, Arthur commits suicide. After Arthur's death, his brother, Sidney, who is unseen throughout the movie, goes on the warpath to try to avenge his brother. The movie focuses on Haley's quest, along with his girlfriend, Fran Garland (Lizabeth Scott), to find out exactly who is coming after him and why. Upon reaching the realization that his hunter is out to avenge Arthur's death, Haley does what he can to protect himself. At the same time he tries to cope with the aftermath of his evil ways, and begins his own path of remorse and redemption.moreless
