Dark Passage is a 1947 film noir directed by Delmer Davies that stars Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Humphrey Bogart plays Vincent Parry, a recent escapee from Prison who's been framed for the murder of is wife. He wants to prove his innocence, but to successfully stay on the lam Vincent has to undergo secret back room plastic surgery to get a new face. The whole film before the surgery is shot from Bogart's own point of view so the viewer doesn't see Bogart's face until afterwards. Lauren Bacall plays Irene Jansen, a young artist and the one woman who believes Vincent is innocent. The film is well respected for its clever cinematography and San Francisco settings. The film also features Agnes Moorehead in a supporting role as Madge, a mean harpy of a women who enjoys when other people are unhappy. At the time of filming, Bogart and Bacall were a couple in real life. This was the third film they worked on together.moreless
