Dark Waters is a 2003 action-thriller about a pack of genetically engineered sharks wreaking havoc in the Gulf of Mexico. The movie was directed by Philip J. Roth, who is best known for many low-budget thrillers such as "Super Eruption," "Ghost Town," and "Reign of the Gargoyles." Renegade biologist Dane Quatrell (Lorenzo Lamas) and fellow biologist Robin (Simmone MacKinnon) are drugged, kidnapped, and forced to help the military defeat the vicious predators. They soon discover that the genetically engineered, blood-thirsty sharks are the result of a secret U.S. military mission gone awry. Realizing that they are way out of their depth, they must escape the military while attempting to fight off the sharks. Their biggest obstacle is that the sharks are now highly intelligent and able to stay a step ahead of them. Dane and Robin are forced to rely upon their professional expertise to outwit the sharks once and for all.moreless
