Daryl Hall & John Oates: Our Kind of Soul: Live is a collection of performances from 1970s duo Hall & Oates. The team specialized in a musical style they dubbed "rock and soul," a blend of rock and roll and rhythm and blues styles. They found commercial success and scored six number one hits, "Rich Girl," "Kiss on My List," "Private Eyes," "I Can't Go for that," "Maneater," and "Out of Touch." Though they faded from the music charts in the early 1990s, they have continued to collaborate, record and tour into the new century. "Our Kind of Soul" is also the title of the team's 2004 album, which included covers of soul hits from the 1960s, '70s and '80s as well as three new tracks. Both Hall and Oates have roots in Philadelphia, and the songs chosen were selected to pay tribute to that musical heritage. The film includes interviews with both Hall and Oates.
