Day of the Nightmare, also known as Don't Scream, Doris Mays, is a 1965 mysterious horror film directed by John A. Bushelman and written by Leonard Goldstein. Barbara Crane (Beverly Bain) is the naive wife of a talented painter, Jonathan Crane (Cliff Fields), who struggles with his emotions and is plagued by sexual frustration. Jonathan's wife, Barbara, doesn't like that her husband is out-of-town all the time, but she puts up with it because she loves him dearly. She is utterly dumbfounded when Detective Dave Harmon (John Ireland) shows up at her house to ask her questions about her beloved husband. Barbara does not understand why the police would suspect her husband of anything. After the initial shock that her husband is a police suspect, Barbara decides to do some investigating of her own to prove the police's suspicion wrong. What will Barbara find out in her investigation, and can she handle the truth?
