Day Zero is a drama film that focuses on the effects of a military draft. George (Chris Klein), Dixon (Jon Bernthal), and Aaron (Elijah Wood) are three friends who have been served with draft notices, giving them 30 days to report for duty. George is an attorney whose wife, Molly (Ginnifer Goodwin), has just beaten cancer. He does not want to leave his wife so he begins to research ways to avoid the draft. Meanwhile, Aaron, a novelist, realizes that since he must serve, he has to get in shape. He begins to exercise and starts to see a therapist, Dr. Reynolds (Ally Sheedy). Dixon is a cab driver and the most fearless of the three friends. However, when he meets Patricia (Elizabeth Moss), his once simple life becomes complicated. As the day of the draft approaches, the friends are forced to make difficult decisions, ones that may change their lives forever.
