Daydreams is a classic 1922 silent film starring American comic actor Buster Keaton, directed by Edward F. Kline. Buster plays the role of a lover of a beautiful young lady Renee Adoree, and asks from the girl's father her hand for marriage. Seeing Buster as a hapless young man, he will only hand her daughter for marriage if he can become a successful man. Taking the words of the old man, Buster swears that he will shoot himself if he fails to find success. He goes to the city to find his fortune. While taking various low-level jobs, he writes to his girlfriend ambiguously describing in his letters the kind of job he has been doing, making her imagine that Buster is now a big-timer with a very successful career. Unable to make himself a successful man, Buster goes home in frustration while he keeps his promise to shoot himself in front of his fiancée's family, but things will only end up in a very hilarious conclusion.moreless
