Dead End, a 2003 horror flick directed by Jean-Baptiste Andrea and Fabrice Canepa, starts off by introducing the seemingly nondescript Harrington family. They decide to take an unfamiliar shortcut through a secondary road in the forest, on the way to Christmas dinner. En route, the father, Frank (Ray Wise), dozes off at the wheel and narrowly avoids colliding with another car travelling in the opposite direction. Frank soon spots amongst the trees a mysterious woman dressed in white (Amber Smith), holding an infant which appears to be dead. They initially stop to give her a ride, but both she and her baby vanish from the car during a brief stop at an empty roadside cabin. As they drive deeper through the woods, thoroughly lost, she begins to stalk them at every turn, and a series of horrifying deaths ensue. The family members are picked off one by one, and victims are then taken away in a slow black hearse, in a chilling series of events. Simultaneously, the Harringtons' deepest family secrets are slowly revealed as survivors panic and insanity sets in.moreless
