Dead Man's Shoes is a 2004 British dramatic crime thriller directed by Shane Meadows. In the film, Richard (Paddy Considine) is returning home to Matlock, Derbyshire, after serving seven years in the military. Richard is anxious to see his mentally challenged brother, Anthony (Toby Kebbell). Richard knows that something terrible happened to his brother while he was away, and he cannot wait to face the men who did it. Shortly after arriving home, Richard visits a local pub and has his first confrontation with one of the men, Herbie (Stuart Wolfenden), a local drug-dealer. Herbie is shaken up about the confrontation; he does not realize who Richard is and tells his leader, Sonny (Gary Stretch) about what happened. Sonny blows Herbie off, and Herbie thinks he has overreacted until members of his crew start to have unfortunate accidents. How far will a brother go to seek revenge for his handicapped brother?
