Deadfall is based on a novel by Desmond Cory and adapted and directed by Bryan Forbes. It was distributed by 20th Century Fox, and was originally release in 1968. Deadfall tells the story of a recovering alcoholic and master cat burglar named Henry Clarke (Michael Caine). While attempting to recover from his alcoholism in a sanatorium, the would-be thief meets Fe Moreau (Giovanna Ralli). Fe is an attractive women with an odd marriage arrangement and an awful lot of knowledge about Henry and his illustrious life of crime. However, Fe isn't visiting Henry to talk about old jobs -- she has a unique business proposition. It seems that Fe's openly gay husband Richard (Eric Portman) is also a seasoned heist planner -- the only problem is that Richard's extensive skills seem to lie in heist planning, not heist running. Thus Fe and Richard convince Henry to help them plan and execute a daring and lucrative diamond heist.
