Dear Murderer is a 1947 thriller starring Eric Portman (49th Parallel, A Canterbury Tale, One of Our Aircraft Is Missing, The Bedford Incident) and Greta Gynt (The Human Monster, The Arsenal Stadium Mystery, The Calendar, The Runaway). Lee Warren (Eric Portman) is convinced his wife Vivien (Greta Gynt) is cheating on him with a man named Richard (Dennis Price). Infuriated, he conspires to kill Richard and make it look like a suicide. But when a hysterical Vivien mentions she's got more than one lover, Lee is forced to change his plan. Meanwhile, Inspector Penbury (Jack Warner) attempts to make sense out of a very convoluted love affair. Is Vivien a callous shell of a woman who couldn't care less for her husband Richard? Dear Murderer is an excellent noir film for its time - Vivien's narcissism is almost unbearable to watch. A must-see for all those who enjoy a gritty thriller from the old days.
