"Crest Point is stereotypical Anywhere, U.S.A., where people go about their business, attend Friday night football games and the local cops' biggest worry is youthful pranksters. Stan (Brad Dourif, the Halloween films, HBO's Deadwood, the voice of Chucky, The Lord of the Rings films, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) is a 59-year-old recluse who offers cremation services from the basement of his funeral home ... though he doesn't seem much interested in promoting his business. In fact, he's a deranged sociopath who eliminates anyone he perceives to be a bully. Jarod (Jeremy Sumpter, TV's Friday Night Lights, P.J. Hogan's Peter Pan, Frailty) is a fatherless, 17-year-old high school outcast who no longer even attempts to fit in at school. Things aren't much better at home with mom's abusive boyfriend (Daniel Baldwin, Vampires, Born on the Fourth of July). When Stan takes the beleaguered teen under his wing, they soon develop a demented friendship.
