Death Cab for Cutie: Live At the Mt. Baker Theatre captures performances from the emo band's two-night engagement at the Mt. Baker Theatre in their hometown of Bellingham, Washington. The musicians met in Bellingham and would go on to become a well-known name in the alternative rock, emo and indie pop scene. The band consists of writer, lyricist and founder Ben Gibbard on guitar, producer and KCWU DJ Chris Walla on guitar, Germany-born bassist Nick Hammer and multi-instrumentalist Jason McGerr playing drums, piano and guitar. The band takes their name from a song by Vivian Stanshall and Neil Innes of the band Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, a satirical send-up of Elvis Presley inspired by an America pulp fiction crime magazine of the '60s. Also included in this video release are interviews with the band as they talk about the band's formative years in Bellingham. Tracks include The New Year, President of What?, Soul Meets Body, Grapevine Fires, Long Division, and others.moreless
