Death Valley Gunfighter tells the story of thieves trying to take over a silver mine owned by comic relief Nugget Clark (Eddy Waller). Set in his ways, Clark has no use for the law, least of all the sheriff who is courting his niece. When he discovers that his brother has been murdered he has nowhere to turn for help. Thankfully, his niece, Trudy (Gail Davis), and the local sheriff Keith Ames (William Henry) get in contact with lawman Rocky Lane (Allan "Rocky" Lane). Rocky goes to work as a miner so as to figure out what is really happening in the mine. To everyone's surprise Vinson McKnight (Harry Harvey), the banker, is plotting to steal Nugget's mine for himself. Rocky fights to save the mine, save the day, and protect Clark's Ego. This 1949 western film was directed by R.G. Springsteen and is the first in the Rocky Lane series.
