Delightfully Dangerous is a 1945 musical directed by Arthur Lubin. For as long as she can remember, Sherry (Jane Powell) has aspired to be just like her big sister, Josephine (Constance Moore). Josephine left home and has lived in New York for years now, but 15-year-old Sherry still thinks about her glamorous singer sister. Unfortunately, Sherry's stage fright makes it hard for her to even perform in a high school play. A Broadway producer (Ralph Bellamy) who happens to be in town decides to give the shy teenager some motivation. He tells her all kinds of wonderful stories about Josephine's popularity and success. Sherry is so inspired that she impulsively decides to take a trip to New York and reconnect with her big sister. To her surprise, she learns that the producer left some major details out. Josephine is making a living as a burlesque performer, and Sherry knows it is up to her to connect the producer and her sister, while finding her own voice at the same time.moreless
