Movie Summary

Director:
C.B. Harding
Released:
2007
Rating:
PG-13
Delta Farce is director C.B. Harding's 2007 film about three down-on-their-luck members of the Army National Guard, Larry (Larry the Cable Guy), Bill (Bill Engvall), and Everett (DJ Qualls). The film centers on their actions in a foreign country. When an army sergeant (Keith David) receives orders to find more soldiers for deployment in Iraq, these three men must serve on active duty abroad. On the trip to Iraq, the three reservists fall asleep in a vehicle. The vehicle falls out of their plane when the plane experiences turbulence. Believing they are in Iraq upon awaking, the three soldiers seek to carry out their orders by searching for weapons of mass destruction, unaware they are actually in Mexico. During their travels, they stumble across a pair of locals. After a series of misunderstandings by both parties, the men travel to a town plagued by bandits led by Carlos Santana (Danny Trejo), and the three men choose to lend their support.

    Variety

If three of "The Magnificent Seven" had been Gomer Pyle, the result might have looked like Delta Farce, a movie rife with fat, fart and Fallujah jokes, but with a subcutaneous wit ...

    The New York Times

Perhaps the people most insulted are white Southerners, who presumably are expected to embrace one whopping brain-dead metaphor.

    Entertainment Weekly Scott Brown

Here's a sobering thought: If every war gets the comedy it deserves, could Delta Farce, a strenuously unfunny "Three Amigos" knockoff, be our M*A*S*H?
