Delta of Venus is a 1995 erotic drama based on the life of author Anais Nin. The story is of an American author who travels to Paris in hopes of honing her craft and ends up exploring her sexual desires in the process. The writer, named Elena (Audie England), had always had a dream of writing about serious literature, but after a handsome Frenchman offers her a small fortune to write erotic novels while in France, she decides it is her best bet to pay the bills for now. She reluctantly agrees, however she soon finds that it is hard to write about life's sensual pleasures without experiencing them herself. Elena soon finds herself getting her own schooling in the form of numerous steamy situations and by heading to locales with an equally hedonistic reputation. Delta of Venus was directed by Zalman King and was originally rated as an NC-17 film, before finally being released on video with an R rating.moreless
