Desert Blue is a 1998 comedy/drama directed by Morgan J. Freeman. The small town of Baxter, California has a population of only 89 people, and its sole tourist attractions are a giant pink ice cream cone and a water park that has yet to be finished. Skye Davidson (Kate Hudson) is a young actress whose father is obsessed with finding unique roadside attractions. When Professor Lance Davidson (John Heard) discovers that Baxter is home to the world's largest ice cream cone, he drags Skye to the dying town with him. After a truck carrying a mysterious substance is involved in an accident and spills its cargo, the town is quarantined. Skye and her father are forced to stay longer than they expected, which leads Skye to explore the town further and get to know the town's residents, including Ely Jackson (Christina Ricci), a young woman who throughly enjoys blowing things up, and Blue Baxter (Brendan Sexton III), who is trying to finish his father's dream water park in the desert.moreless
