Desk Set is a romantic comedy from 1957, directed by Walter Lang. Richard Sumner (Spencer Tracy) is an efficiency expert hired by the Federal Broadcasting Network for a mysterious job. Bunny Watson (Katherine Hepburn) is the network's reference department head. She is a genius with a photographic memory and proud of her department's work. When Richard comes to work on the first day, he spends his time observing Bunny and her department. Bunny is sure that Richard is going to interfere with her highly successful and organized department at the network. She tells Richard of her suspicions, and they have their first of many disagreements. As the movie progresses they become more playful and Richard and Bunny begin to fall in love. To complicate matters, for years Bunny has been in a tepid relationship with network executive Mike Cutler (Gig Young). Bunny has to choose between Richard who sometimes drives her crazy, and Mike, her safe and steady beau.moreless
