Detroit 9000 follows a racially mixed pair of police officers as they hunt down the men responsible for robbing the fundraiser for Representative Aubrey Hale Clayton (Rudy Challenger), the first black man ever to run for Governor in the state of Michigan. The Caucasian Lieutenant Danny Bassett (Alex Rocco) is first assigned to the case because of his years of experience and his no-nonsense attitude. When Bassett realizes that this case is too much to handle alone, he reluctantly recruits an up and coming young black Sergeant, Jesse Williams (Hari Rhodes). In their unlikely partnership, Bassett's street smarts and Williams' advanced education prove indispensable as they venture into the world of prostitutes, explosive gun fights, and corruption. This timeless blaxploitation film features endless tracks of funky music and destruction, culminating in a gigantic chase scene and shootout that will leave you on the edge of your seat as the Detroit police force and the robbers have one final stand-off.
