Devil in the Flesh, released under the title Dearly Devoted, is a 1998 American psychological thriller by Director Steve Cohen. When the mother of a beautiful, but deeply troubled, young woman, Debbie Strand (Rose McGowan), dies in a mysterious house fire, she is sent to Los Angeles to live with her estranged grandmother. Her grandmother, an extremely conservative fundamentalist Christian, believes that she can undo years of damage from what she views as Debbie's hedonism through "correctional therapy." After being abused by her grandmother, and forced to wear her mother's old clothes to school, Debbie snaps and beats her to death with a cane. Then she sets her sights on Peter Rinaldi (Alex McArthur), an English teacher at her new high school. Her crush soon spirals into an unhealthy obsession and when Peter rejects her advances, he finds that things in his life begin to go terribly wrong. Debbie even goes so far as to try to kill Marilyn (Sherrie Rose), Peter's fiancée. Can Peter put an end to Debbie's destructive madness and murderous mean streak, before it is too late?moreless
