Diamond Hunters is a 2001 family drama film set in a South African diamond mine country. Greed for wealth and power, and a past full of deception bring a family's fortune and relationship collapsing to the ground. Johnny Lance (Sean Patrick Flannery) returns to South Africa's Emerald Coast to reunite with his father, Jacob Van der Byl (Roy Scheider), who left him as a child 20 years ago. Fueled by his desire to take control over his family's diamond empire, he struggles to impress his father by saving their business from the brink of destruction. However, his return raises tension in the family that results in a competition with his half-brother Benedict Van der Byl (Michael Easton) to win over their father's favor and also vie for the attention of a woman, Tracey Van der Byl (Alyssa Milano). When money is involved, family ties are severed to serve one's selfish motives and a fight for their very own survival ensues.
