Dick is a satirical 1999 comedy that involves two teenagers in the Watergate scandal which stars Michelle Williams ("My Blue Valentine") and Kirsten Dunst ("Spiderman"). Best friends Betsy Jobs (Kirsten Dunst) and Arlene Lorenzo (Michelle Williams) just happen to live in the Watergate apartments in Washington DC. During a school trip to the White House, the two teens meet President Nixon (Dan Hedaya) and become the official dog walkers. Soon, Betsy and Arlene are witness to all sorts of strange goings-on (shredding of documents, cash being counted) and people like G. Gordon Liddy (Harry Shearer) and Bob Haldeman (Dave Foley). The girls start giving Nixon advice on how to cope with the scandal, and Arlene develops a crush on the beleaguered President. Of course, reporters Bob Woodward (Will Ferrell) and Carl Bernstein (Bruce McCulloch) are on the scene trying to pursue the story. Writer/director Andrew Fleming includes plenty of Watergate facts and trivia in this broad and silly satire.
