John McClane is visiting Los Angeles to reconnect with his estranged wife and children on Christmas Eve. Just as McClane arrives at his wife's Christmas party, a band of terrorists, led by Hans Gruber take the building hostage. An unprepared and shoe-less McClane has to take to the air vents and back corridors of Nakitomi Plaza to stop the terrorists and save his wife. He's not alone, he'll have the help of Sergeant Al Powell, an LA desk Cop who's just trying to get home to his wife.
