Dinotopia is a fantasy three-part miniseries developed by Disney and Hallmark based on the book series of the same name by James Gurney, which follows two teenage Scott brothers learn how to survive as they’re stranded in an unusual world of Dinotopia. Freethinking Karl (Tyron Leitso) and studious David (Wentworth Miller) had been with their father Frank (Stuart Wilson) when their plane crashed and the boys wash up on an unknown shore. Cyrus Crabb (David Thewlis) takes them to Waterfall City, the capital of a civilization called Dinotopia, a place where humans and dinosaurs alike live peacefully, even some dinosaurs capable of communicating with the others. Lost, trapped, confused, and without their father, the distinctly different brothers have to learn to accept their new roles in Dinotopia – Karl as a caregiver for the dinosaur eggs, David as a flyer. It seems though that Dinotopia isn’t as peaceful as it’s touted to be as carnivores and unknown attackers threaten everything that kept the island safe. Geraldine Chaplin, Katie Carr, Alice Krige, and Jim Carter also star in this amazing feat of CGI and live-action.moreless
