Dirt Merchant is a 1999 comedy film written and directed by B.J. Nelson. A slew of lovable characters and an intentionally wacky premise have made this film a cult favorite. Slacker Kurt "Dirt" Merchant (Danny Masterson) is an aspiring rocker who is in the wrong place at the wrong time and gets framed for the gruesome murder of a world-famous rock star. To clear his name and avoid prison, Dirt must act like a private investigator and gather evidence that points to the real killer. He's assisted by his buddies Sponge (David Faustino) and Sly (David DeLuise), who are some of the only people that believe in his innocence. Scantily clad femme fatale Holly So Tightly (Jenna Jameson) also becomes an important ally. Dirt Merchant is a hilarious sex-and-booze-filled romp in a neo-noir style. Fans of B-movies and Generation X pop culture will adore this low-budget homage to the private-detective films of the 1940's.
