Dirty Deeds is an Australian movie directed by David Caesar. The plot revolves around the Australian mob scene in 1969. In the 1960s, the Australian underworld had a huge boon, owing to the fact that many American soldiers took their leaves from Vietnam and went Down Under for some rest and relaxation. Generally, young soldiers looking to blow off steam means prostitutes, drugs, gambling and drinking. The gangsters were only happy to oblige: the whole scene got so big that American mafiosos became interested in busting in on the Australian racket. Barry Ryan (Bryan Brown) is one of the major players in the Australian underworld. His business is booming and the only negative in his life is his wife, Sharon (Toni Collette). Then two Chicago-based mob goons, Tony (John Goodman) and Sal (Felix Williamson), show up with the idea that their boss wants in on the action. Can Barry avoid an international mob conflict, yet still retain his stranglehold on the Australian underworld?moreless
