Dirty Filthy Love is a romantic drama by director Adrian Shergold, starring Michael Sheen as the obsessive compulsive architect, Mark Furness, who must live with both Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Tourettes Syndrome. Mark was once quite successful as an architect, but when his bad habits"such as climbing stairs in strange patterns, washing himself compulsively, and swearing involuntarily"become harder and harder to control, things go downhill quickly. His wife, Stevie Furness (Anastasia Griffith), cannot deal with his antics and kicks him out, so he must move in with friends Nathan (Adrian Bower) and Kathy (Claudie Blakely). He starts getting help for his mental disorders, through the assistance of new friend Charlotte (Shirley Henderson). But the disorders are serious and when stresses from his personal life exacerbate the situation, he spirals downward into a dark and dangerous depression. Dirty Filthy Love won a 2005 Royal Television Society (RTS) Award and was nominated for an additional two 2005 RTS Awards, five 2005 BAFTA TV Award, and a 2005 Directors Guild of Great Britain (DGGB) Award.moreless
