Harry Callahan is an unsociable police officer who puts his faith in a large S & W .44 Magnum revolver. He is more apt to shoot first and ask questions later. Because his wife died after being run over by a hit and run driver, Harry hunts the bad guys with a vengeance. Because of this, Harry becomes a renegade cop who seeks justice in controversial ways. His latest mission is to find Charles Davis. Called the Scorpio Killer, Charles is a serial killer who shoots at random people from rooftop perches, claiming he will stop only when the mayor pays him a huge sum of money. Harry is upset over his town becoming terrorized by an unknown killer and begins a cat and mouse game with him.
