Disco Pigs is an unconventional love story between two best friends who experience the breakup of their deep, passionate bond. Pig (Cillian Murphy) and Runt (Elaine Cassidy) are inseparable. Born moments apart, growing up in houses next to one another, they share a eerie, almost psychic bond. Feeling a strong love for one another, they are also mutually attracted to destruction and reckless exploration, and both seem headed on a downward path. But as their 17th birthday draws near, Runt begins to see beyond the world they have created together, finding fun and comfort in situations and people other than Pig. Terrified that Runt with leave him, and realizing his sexual attraction to her, his love for Runt becomes volatile jealousy, and he does everything in his power to bring her back in their shared, sheltered existence. Kirsten Sheridan directs this adaptation of the powerful stage play by Enda Walsh that offers a frightening glance into the eyes of a relationship that is too strong for its own good.
