District 9 follows bureaucrat Wikus who is put in charge of sweeping and clearing 'District 9' of the insectile extraterrestrial infestation that developed on its South African soil, when a massive alien ship crashed there years before. The intelligent beings that have swarmed the region, colloquially and derisively called 'Prawns,' are to be moved to another camp called District 10 and are not happy about it ' all they want is to repair their ship and get back home. At first unsympathetic to their cause, he gets sympathetic real fast when he is infected by alien spore and begins mutating into one of their number. From then on, it's a race for him to seek a cure from his very enemies the Prawns and aid them in getting what they want so he can get what he wants and restore his humanity.
