Divorce is a dramatic film directed by William Nigh that centers on a frequently divorced woman Diane Carter (Kay Francis) whose gold digging nature often leads her to tempt married men into ruining their own happy marriages with the temptations of money and adventure. After receiving yet another divorce, Diane heads to her hometown and immediately ingratiates herself into the life of her exceptionally happy married childhood friend Bob Phillips (Bruce Cabot). Bob and his wife Martha (Helen Mack) have had a happy life with their children and home but when Diane comes back into the fold, their content marriage turns into an unhappy one as Bob throws his family aside for the chance of riches in Diane's latest real estate business. Martha pulls the carpet from under him as she serves him with divorce papers and refuses to take his support, deciding to work for herself and prove that her husband has left it all for nothing.
