Doctor Dracula, a story which touches on sorcery, witchcraft and a vampire, is directed by Paul Aratow and Al Adamson. Dr. John Wainwright (Larry Hankin), an ex-university scholar and author, claims to be the reincarnation of the infamous mind controller Svengali. Svengali has indeed possessed the body and mind of Wainwright and in order to continue living, he needs a young, beautiful girl, Trilby (Jane Brunel-Cohen), for a sacrifice. With this sacrifice, Wainwright's publisher, Sir Stephen (Norman Pierce), and friend, Radcliff (John Carradine), will also gain immortality. Wainwright has fallen in love with Trilby and tries to fight with his other self, Svengali, to save her life. Sir Stephen and Radcliff finally convince him it's the only way he will live eternally. Wainwright stages the ritual sacrifice and has a confrontation with the strange Dr. Gregorio (Geoffrey Land), who is actually the long undead Count Dracula. Dr. Gregorio has already killed Trilby by draining her blood which not only ends her life, but also the lives of Wainwright, Radcliff, and Sir Stephen. The ensuing journey of Gregorio begins as he leaves corpses and makes female vampire slaves.moreless
