$ (Dollars) is a 1971 heist film starring Goldie Hawn and Warren Beatty in a story about two unlikely criminals who hatch a plan to steal a fortune in already stolen money from a group of far more experienced criminals. Beatty plays Joe Collins, a down-trodden man working security for a bank in Hamburg, West Germany. Hawn plays Dawn Divine, a kind-hearted hooker whose clients include three high-profile criminals—a drug dealer called the Candy Man, a mobster from Las Vegas, and a corrupt Army sergeant. Through her dealings with these three men, she learns they're all keeping large amounts of cash in safe deposit boxes at Joe's bank. Together, Joe and Dawn decide to steal the money and split the money between them. But even if they can pull off the heist without being caught by the police, they'll have to escape the far more dangerous grasp of the criminals they stole from. $ (Dollars) is a riveting caper film, directed by Richard Brooks.moreless
