Dominick Dunne: After the Party is the 2008 documentary about the famed Vanity Fair writer and his surprising life story. Dunne became a prized contributor to the magazine for his coverage of the O.J. Simpson trial and other high-profile criminal escapades. His earlier career as a Hollywood producer and social butterfly gave him a unique access to the A-List celebrities and wealthy East coast elite. But Dunne only arrived at his moment in the spotlight after the tragic murder of his daughter, actress Dominique Dunne, which led to his first attempt at magazine work. He was broke, divorced and had made a complete failure of his Hollywood career because of drink and drugs. This biographical documentary, directed by Kirsty de Garis and Timothy Jolley, includes interviews with a variety of his friends and family including his son, actor/producer Griffin Dunne, fellow writer (and sister-in-law) Joan Didion, editor Graydon Carter and producer Robert Evans.
