Don't Change Your Husband is a 1919 silent film about a woman who leaves her slovenly spouse for another man. Leila Porter (Gloria Swanson) lives a luxurious life, but has grown tired with the lazy, unkempt ways of her husband, James Denby Porter (Elliott Dexter). The wealthy glue king smokes cigars and eats onions, and the only noise coming from the bedroom is that of his snoring. When Leila meets the dashing young Schuyler Van Sutphen, (Lew Cody) she is rather taken with the charm of the handsome young man, and leaves James to be with him. However, Leila soon realizes that the other side of the fence has problems as well, and not only is Schuyler inattentive to her, but is quite attentive to his girl on the side, Nanette (Julia Faye). With James racing to get himself back in shape to win her back and Leila growing progressively more unhappy with her new marriage, it's anyone's guess as to how this love triangle will turn out. Legendary director Cecil B. DeMille takes the reigns of Jeanie Macpherson story that was very popular and made a star out of Swanson.moreless
