Double Down, also known under the title Zigs, is the 2001 comedy gambling drama from director Mars Callahan (Poolhall Junkies, What Love Is). Four friends in Los Angeles have a pretty bad gambling problem. From there, the film really explores the lives of these problem gamblers, and has fun with it, too. The movie focuses on the exploits of four friends who just want to own their own restaurant. David Zigman (Jason Priestly, 21 Jump Street, Beverly Hills 90210), the son of a restaurant owner would rather sit in the office with his feet up on the desk while watching a Lakers game on TV instead of actually doing work. Mike (Kane Picoy), is the narrator and David's best friend. Cory (Peter Dobson) the Jersey Jinx (Cory) and Brett (Orien Richman) bring gut-busting comic relief throughout the movie. Director Callahan also features as Clyde the bookie, the 'Chris Walken aficionado' who claims to have seen King of New York 2000 times.moreless
