Together for the first and only time, the husband and wife team of Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks tear up the screen in this charming early talkie adaptation of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Having just arrived in Padua with a desire to find a wealthy wife, the handsome Petruchio, discovers that a beautiful, rich, and yet ill-tempered woman is available to anyone brave enough to marry her. Taking on this epic challenge, Petruchio sets his mind to taming Kate, making her his subservient and obedient wife. With whips in hand and many a sharp remark, these fierce individuals battle out their differences, eventually winding up in each other's arms. With fiery exchanges and comic pratfalls, Pickford and Fairbanks heat up the screen and leave you wanting more.
