Dr. Who and the Daleks is a 1965 science fiction adventure film, the first feature film based on the hit BBC television show, Dr. Who. Dr. Who is a brilliant scientist, whose latest and greatest invention is Tardis. Tardis is a time machine, capable of traveling through space and time. From the outside, Tardis is unassumingly small. Once inside, however, it's a large ship full of complex controls. Dr. Who is showing off his new invention to his two granddaughters, Susan and Barbara, and Barbara's boyfriend, Ian. Ian accidentally activates the powerful ship, and the four travelers wind up in a petrified jungle on a world destroyed by nuclear war. Dr. Who, overwhelmed with curiosity, convinces his young companions to explore the planet with them. Out in the alien wilderness they discover two ancient civilizations who have been at war for ages. The evil and mutated Daleks will stop at nothing to exact revenge on the now pacifist Thals. Dr. Who and his companions will have to fight and outwit the Daleks to make it back to Tardis and escape back to Earth with their lives.moreless
