Driftin' River is a classic cowboy film from the year 1946. The film begins with the two main characters, Eddie and Soapy, heading to the Morgan Ranch at the behest of the United States Army. Eddie, played by Eddie Dean and Soapy Jones, played by Roscoe Ates intend to buy new horses for the cavalry division. Once arriving at the Morgan ranch the two are surprised that the ranch itself is run by a young woman named J.C. The town nearby is controlled by a gang of outlaws. One of these outlaws is a ranch hand to J.C., one which she trusts almost completely. Tucson Brown the outlaw ranch hand catches wind of the horse sale which is about to occur between J.C. and our two main characters. As an outlaw he disapproves of this sale to the government and steals the herd the night before the sale is supposed to be completed.
